LSCS

Admissions

Students at LSCS are encouraged to achieve excellence in their academic endeavors. Our classes are designed so your child can receive personal attention and special help when needed.

Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to knowing each child as an individual. The foundation of the LSCS curriculum is ABeka. While ABeka lays a solid academic foundation from a Christian perspective, curriculum from BJU Press and Saxon Math supplements the education of our middle grades encouraging higher order thinking skills and achieving more hands-on learning.

A Beka Book

A Beka Book provides Christian schools with outstanding curriculum and textbooks built on a foundation of academic excellence and Christian character training. Our school benefits from our treasury of textbooks and teaching materials that reflect the very best in traditional education, comprehensive curriculum, and eternal truths.

Bob Jones

Bob Jones publishes academically rigorous Christian textbooks that teach a biblical worldview and encourage critical thinking. Overall, it is a great blend of factual knowledge that incorporates critical thinking skills with biblical truth.

Saxon Math

Saxon Math is used from 5th through 12th grades and introduces mathematical topics in a manner that allows the assimilation of one facet of a concept before the next facet is introduced. Each concept builds upon another with lots of practice and review.

In the elementary classroom, Everyday Counts is utilized daily in addition to the ABeka math curriculum. Children use the calendar every day to learn everything from number families to introductory geometry.

Guided Reading

Guided reading is a literacy program that enhances our standard curriculum. Guided reading provides an opportunity for each child to read at his or her own level becoming accomplished enough to move to the next level. Comprehension is obtained and confidence is gained.
