Dress Code

Philosophy

We believe in a dress code that promotes a disciplined learning environment, removes distractions from the classroom and prioritizes function and comfort.

Dress Code

Hair

• Natural hair colors: brown, black, blonde, red
• Male facial hair: minimal facial hair (stubble)
• Male hair length: should not obstruct a student’s vision or touch his shoulders

Shirts

• LSCS issued shirts ONLY
  • excludes LS Church/Victory Camp apparel
  • LSCS polos are to be worn every Wednesday for Chapel
  • appropriately sized
    • should not be overly large, too tight or too small – a student’s midriff should not be seen when hands are fully raised above the head
  • should not be altered
• Solid-colored long sleeve shirts may be worn under LSCS shirts

Pants, Shorts & Skirts

• Solid colors: khaki, black, gray or denim
  • excludes sweatpants, leggings or stretch fabrics, athletic shorts/pants
• Pants/shorts must be worn at the waist
• Holes are NOT permitted in pants, shorts or shirts
• appropriately sized
  • should not be overly large or too tight
  • Shorts must have a minimum of a 4-inch inseam
• Jumpers are NOT permitted
• Girls (grades PreK – 5th only) are permitted to wear skirts
  • should be longer than the student’s fingertips when her arms are at her sides
  • shorts/leggings must be worn under all skirts

Outerwear

• Coats/jackets/sweatshirts must be sized appropriately
• Only LSCS issued outerwear, with a LSCS shirt underneath, is permitted inside the school building
  • excludes LS Church/Victory Camp apparel
• Non-LSCS issued outerwear should be removed before the school day begins but are acceptable for outdoor recess, dismissal, etc.

Footwear

• Footwear must be closed-toe and have a back
  • excludes Crocs, slides and slippers

SPECIAL “SPIRIT DAYS”

On special “Spirit Days,” students are encouraged to wear clothes that go along with a specific theme or purpose (examples: Astros Day, Rodeo Day). If a student decides not to participate in the special dress occasion, he/she must wear clothes that meet regular dress code guidelines.
